The Superyacht Challenge Antigua has returned to the historic Nelson’s Dockyard from 4–8 March 2026, bringing an impressive fleet of sailing superyachts to the waters of English Harbour, Antigua and Barbuda.
Now in its 15th year, the regatta combines world-class racing with the relaxed camaraderie that defines Antigua’s sailing season. Organised in affiliation with the Antigua and Barbuda Sailing Association and sanctioned by the SuperYacht Racing Association, the event remains proudly non-commercial, focusing on safe, competitive racing and an unforgettable experience for owners, captains, crews and guests.
A Fleet of Remarkable Superyachts
This year’s fleet features ten magnificent yachts, showcasing a mix of classic craftsmanship and modern performance design. Among them are the striking Adix, the powerful Hetairos, the elegant Rebecca, and the competitive Hummingbird.
Together, the fleet represents the diversity and character that make the Superyacht Challenge a standout event in the Caribbean sailing calendar.
Racing Around Antigua
Racing begins with the optional Round Antigua Race, a 46.8-nautical-mile circumnavigation of the island starting and finishing near Fort Charlotte at the entrance to English Harbour. The course takes yachts past key points including Green Island, Sandy Island, and Cades Reef before returning south to the finish.
Over the following days, pursuit-format races challenge captains and crews with tactical sailing and precise timing along Antigua’s stunning coastline.
The Spirit of the Regatta
While class winners celebrate with the traditional prize of rum barrels, the regatta’s most prestigious honour is the Gosnell Trophy, awarded to the yacht that best embodies the spirit of the event both on the water and ashore.
With daily racing and lively evening gatherings—including the popular Superyacht Challenge Cook-Off—the event blends competitive sailing with the warm social atmosphere that makes Nelson’s Dockyard such a special venue.
